A note from CAE:
We ask all proctors to please read the following message prior to having students begin the assessment:
"Please note that all essay responses submitted for evaluation will undergo a verification process to ascertain the originality of the content. This includes checking for the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in generating your responses.
Academic integrity is a fundamental principle of our organization and we are committed to upholding high standards of scholarship. We encourage you to express your own writing and analyses based upon the provided documents."
If students should be using the ADAM lockdown browser but have not downloaded it, immediately see Lockdown Browser Installation.
The below script is optional.
Proctor Script:
Thank you for coming today to take the [CCRA+ OR CLA+]. Your performance on this test will help [YOUR INSTITUTION NAME] assess how it contributes to your critical thinking, problem-solving, and written communication skills. It is important that you put forth your best effort on this assessment.
As a test taker, you will complete a Performance Task and Selected-Response Questions. The Performance Task is an essay-based question that you will have 60 minutes [90 minutes / 2 hours with extended time accommodations] to complete. Please be sure that you have finished writing before moving past the warning screen to begin the selected-response questions, as you cannot return to the Performance Task once you have moved on. Then, you will have 30 minutes [45 minutes / 60 minutes with extended time] for the Selected-Response Questions. At the end, you will complete a brief survey.
If needed, you may pause the assessment at any time, or you can ask me to pause your assessment for you.
For test security reasons, we ask that you do not discuss the specific contents of the exam with other students. You may not access other websites, programs, or computer files while testing.
For students testing in person using the lockdown browser: Please open the “ADAM” application on your computer’s desktop. It looks like a black "A" over a green checkmark.
For students testing remotely using the lockdown browser: Please turn your camera and microphone on now, as you will not be able to access Zoom once the assessment has started. Then, open the “ADAM” application on your computer’s desktop. It looks like a black "A" over a green checkmark.
For students testing without the lockdown browser: Please close all other windows or programs and set your device to Do Not Disturb, then navigate to adamexam.com/tester.
When you are ready, please enter Test Code [TEST CODE], then fill out the requested information.
Inform students what identifier was used (their school ID, etc) for the roster and ask them to enter it exactly (caps-sensitive), then to confirm their information (name, email, grade level).
Please do not talk during the assessment. Let me know if you have any questions or difficulty with your computer. If for some reason you are unintentionally logged out of the assessment, please notify me immediately.
It is vital that proctors do not comment on, or add in any way to, the assessment. During the session, if the student has a task-related question, say, “Do the best you can”.
