Installing the secure lockdown browser TestNav:
We recommend downloading and testing the TestNav lockdown browser at least 72 hours before administering the exam to allow time for troubleshooting if needed.
To download TestNav, please use the link below corresponding to your device type. Install package should begin downloading within seconds. When the download is finished, select the downloaded file and follow the instructions. Complete the installation as prompted.

Accessing the Application:
Open the TestNav app. You will be taken to a landing screen the first time you open it. From the landing screen, scroll down to select “Student Portal.”It is located on the left, the second from the bottom.
Once you click “Student Portal,” you will be taken to the ADAM screen. After the installation, please run the App Check.
App Check:
Prior to testing, confirm the PC is configured properly. The App Check must be run on each participant's testing device.
- Do NOT enter a test code; instead, do the following:
- From the Test Code screen, click the APP CHECK button.
- When the app check completes, review the results. Green checkboxes for Kiosk Mode readiness and TestNav connectivity appear if the system passes. If one of these fails, a message indicates you must check your connection and settings before running App Check again.
Accessing the Assessment:
After the App Check is complete, go back to the top screen and scroll down to select “Student Portal.”It is located on the left, the second from the bottom.
- Enter the test code in the "Test Code" field and click Next.
- On the next screen, enter the participant's identifier and click Next.
- Confirm that everything looks correct on the third screen, then click Start.
